The buildup steel structure on top of a 2 floor existing backyard house in the very citycenter of Munich shows the extension of living space in a very densified city area.
The new structure is generated as a vertcal extrusion of the buildings footprint.
Conceptually it clearly separates from the existing building and shows a minimalistic, straight forward design approach. The top of the roof buildup is designed as a open roof terrace.
The perforated corten steel cladding allows views from inside out and shields views from the neighboring houses at the same time.
